What Roman Urdu captions are
Roman Urdu is Urdu written in English letters, the way most Pakistani creators type in comments and chats: "aaj hum baat karenge" instead of the Urdu script. Many viewers read it faster on a phone, It is one option for short-form captions in Pakistan.
There is no single correct spelling. One person writes "bohat", another "bohot" or "bahut". Capflair writes common Pakistani spellings, and because every word is editable you can switch any of them to the way your audience writes.
Urdu and English in the same sentence
Pakistani speech mixes Urdu and English all the time. Choose Urdu + English as the spoken language (or leave Auto detect on) and English words such as "feature", "growth" or "basically" stay in normal English spelling inside your Roman Urdu lines.
The same transcript can also be shown in Urdu script. Roman captions that are switched to Urdu are converted, so for the best Urdu spellings pick Urdu before you generate.
Spell it your way
Click any word to change it. You can also split a word, add a missing word, delete one, or drag its timing on the timeline when a highlight lands early or late.
- Edit text, colour and emphasis per word, or select several words with Shift / Ctrl and change them together.
- "Fix spellings with AI" checks the whole transcript and marks every word it changed, so you can undo any single fix. It is included on paid plans; the free plan gets 5 AI tries a month.
- Lyrics or script mode: paste the exact text and Capflair times your words to the audio instead of guessing them.
Choose a caption style, then export
Pick from animated caption styles, from bold one-word pops to karaoke highlights and calm cinematic lines, and change colours, fonts and motion. The preview is what gets exported.
Export a captioned video in your browser (9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4, 16:9 or the original ratio; 1080p on paid plans and up to 4K on Editor and Pro), or download an SRT file in Latin letters for YouTube, Premiere Pro, CapCut or DaVinci Resolve. Roman Urdu SRT files avoid the right-to-left display problems some players have with Urdu script.
Limits, stated plainly
- Automatic transcription makes mistakes, especially on fast rap, heavy music or noisy audio. Review the words before you export.
- Roman Urdu has no fixed spelling, so expect to change a few words to your own style.
- The free plan includes 2 minutes of transcription a month and watermarked exports.
